Bennett Joins As Women’s Head Coach

Wakefield AFC is delighted to welcome Leeds United Women U23’s Manager, Jake Bennett, to the club to take the lead on the Women’s Team ahead of the 2021/22 season.

Jake joins the club with a wealth of experience having spent the past three years at Leeds United Women U23s, seeing success both on and off the pitch.

Speaking on joining the club, Bennett commented, “I can’t wait to get started. I’m really excited to be joining Wakefield AFC. It’s a really exciting project and one that has the potential to be something special within the community. It’s a very progressive club with some very exciting things going on behind the scenes which will catapult the club to the next level”.

Bennett added, “I’m aiming to make a Women’s team that Wakefield can be proud of and one that can compete in the upper tiers of the game in years to come. Another aim is to not only develop local players and progress the club, but to use my contacts in the game to potentially progress the players’ careers if the opportunity arises”.

Following on from this announcement, we can also confirm the first of our Women’s Open Trials. The trials will take place on Saturday 22nd May 2021. To register your interest in the trials, please complete the form below.
