Wakefield AFC has made the decision to postpone all Academy & Development training and games for one week following five positive COVID-19 test results. The players are now self-isolating. Following this, two Academy coaches, who have not tested positive, also have to self-isolate following positive tests away from the football club.
The club has postponed all training and games to ensure the safety of all players, parents, staff and opposition teams. This is the highest amount of cases at one time the club has faced and it is the sensible decision to postpone all training and games for the Academy for seven days, returning next Monday 5th July. All players have been told to self-isolate and access a COVID-19 test.
As the First Team players and coaches train separately from the Academy, training for them will continue as normal.
